Seattle in White
Well, they told us it doesn't snow here. Maybe once every 3 years. Last year, it snowed 3 times, but each time, and the snow was gone in 24-48 hours. Not bad. This year, so far it has snowed 4 times (maybe more, I lost count), but it accumulated at least 17 inches. They don't plow the streets (other than main streets), they don't salt (it's bad for the fish in Puget Sound), and we live on a mountainous incline!! So... put all those factors together, and you get: A week and a half of LOTS of time in the house. :)
We got creative. We did a lot of baking, coloring, and visiting people the "old fashioned" way - by walking. Our friends, the Spinells, even stopped by when they were out skiing around the neighborhood!
Chanukah was very nice even though a lot of festivities and get-togethers were canceled due to the weather.
Some cute stories/quotes from Sara Chana over the last couple of weeks:
-Sara Chana asked Abba, "Are you wearing glasses?" Then she asked Ima, "Are you wearing glasses? No? Oh, you're wearing eyes?"
-After her bath, "My hands are crinkly (read: wrinkly)."
-One night, during dinner, Sara Chana (who is still gaining a concept of time) meant to ask if now was the time to eat, but instead she said, "Oh, we're eating today?" (Yes, today we can eat.)
Temima Liba has started making raspberries (little spitting noises and lip movements)! It's very cute (from her at least).
